ARTIST STATEMENT
In the past 50 years I’ve written many “Artist Statements.” Some were insightful essays on conceptualizations. Many were reflections into my creative process and a few attempted to explain my work through an academic standard or historical context.
All these “statements” have brought me to a point where I no longer feel compelled to write an explanation as to what or how surrounding a specific piece of my art, but a statement directed more at my career, and the motivation that has guided me through countless conceptual and technical realizations.
For me the satisfaction of completing a piece of art has become secondary to all I experience during the process. My intent has brought me full circle and is very similar to that which I experienced as a child.
I make art because I’m simply happiest when I’m engaged in the process.
