THIS YEAR’S JUROR:

DAISHA BOARD

Daisha Board is the Founding Director of Daisha Board Gallery in Dallas, Texas — recognized as the Best Art Gallery in Dallas by D Magazine in 2022 and 2023 — and the Founder of Black Sheep Art Culture, a nonprofit dedicated to amplifying the voices of historically underrepresented artists, including Black, Brown, LGBTQ+, and disabled creators. Through both organizations, she has built a platform where artists, collectors, and communities intersect across gallery exhibitions, arts education, public art initiatives, artist residencies, and the annual UNREPPED Art Fair.

Over the course of her career, Daisha has curated more than 40 exhibitions and placed works by local artists into the permanent collections of the Dallas Museum of Art, the African American Museum of Dallas, the Black Chamber of Commerce, and corporate collections across the country. She is an experienced juror, having served in that role for exhibitions including the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives Visual Arts Guild, Artspace 111, The Other Art Fair (Los Angeles and Brooklyn), Art 214, and the Dallas Mavericks Black History Month competition, among others.

A recipient of the Business Council for the Arts Obelisk Award, presented by Nancy Nasher, Daisha currently serves on the AT&T Performing Arts Center Advisory Board and the Oak Cliff Society of Fine Art board. She holds a BA in Political Science and African American Studies from Bethune Cookman University.
