| Artist's Statement |
My latest body of work is rooted in the meditative process of sculpture.
Simply, my self, my tools and some ideas. For many years I have been
an artisan in fine art foundries and for other artists. My own sculpture is
a manifestation of what speaks to me: the reflective elements in my art,
the casting process and the cyclical nature of life. When I am starting
a piece of work, I never know what the end result is going to be. I let
the ritual of not controlling the format of the sculpture lead to its
eventual presentation. During this process, I am constantly reminded
that I am moving through this experience and that these challenges are
what make this work necessary for me. I try to let the work go and
speak to those who chose to listen.
